New to WOM Western Online Market was created to provide another marketing option for cattle producers who want to sell single lots of high quality cattle. This auction format is best utilized by registered producers, but we have had success selling club calves and good interest in small pen lots of commercial cattle. The overall goal of the site is to streamline the selling process for producers, similar to how video sales streamlined the commercial cattle auctions. The internet provides added exposure for producers who wish to sell single lots of cattle. The process for selling is simple. All sellers must contact the administrator, Luke Reimers. Together, we will outline an action plan for recording video and still pictures. All information regarding the bulls must be provided by the seller prior to the start of the auction. There are several ways to advertise, utilizing print and online advertising. Print advertising is the most expensive, but very effective. WOM's large database of commercial cattle producers will identify an excellent customer base for registered producers. In addition to an extensive mailing list, our company also has a very good email list that will effectively market the auction directly to people who are online and interested in your lot items. Buying a lot on Western Online Market works very efficently. Bidders must register and be validated by the administrator. Information is validated through a phone call and address verification. An opening bid is set by the seller, bidding incriments are displayed to show the next acceptable bid. The bidder has the option of entering a proxy bid, which is typically the highest amount the bidder is willing to pay for the lot. The auction software will automatically update the bid as additional bids come in, up to the proxy bid amount. Once you are outbid, an automatic email message will be sent alerting you that you have been outbid. If a bid is placed within the last 30 minutes of an auction's scheduled closing time, the auction will be automatically extended 30 minutes to give someone time to place a bid if they have been outbid. When an auction is successfully purchased, the buyer and seller will determine payment method prior to shipment or pick up of the lot. All payment details must be handled between the buyer and seller. Western Online Market takes no responsibility for non-payment, WOM is a private treaty sale facilitator and not a bonded auction house. If you have any questions, please contact the administrator through the contact page. |
